What is coaching?

Coaching is a forward-focused collaborative and goal-oriented partnership that supports you in achieving your goals, exploring your potential, and creating meaningful change in your life. Unlike therapy or counseling, which often focus on healing the past, coaching centers on where you are now and where you want to go. 

It focuses on your strengths, values, and vision, guiding you through self-discovery and actionable strategies to overcome obstacles and reach your full potential. Coaching provides a supportive and empowering environment where you can gain clarity, develop new skills, and make meaningful progress toward your goals. 

What coaching is not? How is it different from therapy or counselling?

Coaching is not therapy, counseling, or consulting. Unlike these fields, it does not delve into diagnosing, treating, or curing mental health issues or medical conditions, nor does it focus on healing past trauma or providing expert advice. It is not a replacement for psychotherapy or psychological counselling, but can work beautifully in complement, grounding insights and learnings from those modalities into real-life practice and empowering new ways of being.

While therapy often delves into the "why" of your past, coaching centers on the "how" of moving forward—helping you align with your authentic self, navigate transitions, and create a more expansive and fulfilling life.

What are sessions like?

While there might be a typical flow, our work together is dynamic. Every session is a unique, living co-creation between us and what wants to come through, responding to what is present, alive and unfolding for you in the moment. Our task is to stay awake to it.

Sessions often begin with a moment of presence and intention-setting, where we clarify desired outcomes and identify any challenges. If you've embarked on a pathway with a series of sessions, we’ll also touch base with your original intentions and reflect progress and on how the journey is unfolding.

Together, we hold a deeply compassionate, non-judgmental, all-embracing space where all that arises for you is welcome. And here is the dance... exploring your challenges and potential pathways through. You will typically leave each session with tangible insights or actions to take away, integrate or action (so bring a notebook or voice memo to capture).

Many find that working transpersonally has a different flavour to traditional coaching. It relies strongly on intuition, and tends to follow the flow, trusting that what is arising holds inherent wisdom, truth and answers to the intentions we've set.

The structure is typically more flexible—sometimes even departing from an original plan—because sometimes, what you thought you needed may not be what truly serves. Or a new insight or discovery completely changes your perspective, the lay of the land or your desired destination.

Clients can and do find that what they thought they were after wasn't it at all :) And many also experience profound connection with Self or something beyond, and healing in the process.

If you’ve experienced traditional coaching as too structured, forced, one-dimensional, superficial or somewhat linear, transpersonal coaching may offer the depth and expansiveness you're seeking. It invites a fuller, more integrated approach to your growth and transformation, and might just be the thing for you.

Is it therapeutic?

While the transpersonal, integrative coaching I practice is not therapy, it can hold a profoundly therapeutic quality as it provides a safe, compassionate space where you are deeply seen, heard, and held while you explore your inner landscape.

Through powerful questions, mindful presence, and the co-creation of new perspectives, it invites you to uncover insights, release old patterns, and embrace healing shifts. Integrating mind, body, and spirit, you are guided to reconnect with your authentic self, transcend limiting patterns, and step into a more expansive and aligned way of being.

Though not a substitute for therapy, it provides a nurturing space for growth, wholeness, and transformation—a space where the seeds of self-discovery blossom into profound renewal.

What is the role of the coach?

I serve as a compassionate ally and guide, holding space for your growth and transformation. My role is not to provide answers, but to help you uncover the wisdom and resources within yourself, offering unconditional support, reflecting your strengths, and illuminating new perspectives as you navigate your unique challenges.

As an integrative, transpersonal coach, I help you go beyond surface-level change, inviting you to explore the deeper layers of your being. I guide you to connect with your authentic self, align with your values, and find ways to transcend or transmute blocks, fears, limitations and other obstacles. Together, we’ll co-create strategies and insights that empower you to live, lead and serve more expansively, courageously, and true to your essence.

Coaching can help you strengthen relationships (most especially the essential one with your Self), improve expression or performance in your personal or professional life, and align more deeply with your purpose and values.

How soon will I see results?

The timeline for results depends on your unique goals, level of engagement, and the natural unfolding of your journey. Some clients experience shifts in awareness, perspective, and clarity within just a few sessions, while deeper transformations often reveal themselves over time.

Often, the ability to hold and nurture liminal space -- where no progress seems apparent -- is at the heart of transformation, where new depths of being and awareness begin to take root and unfold.

The pace of your evolution is guided by your openness, commitment, and the depth of exploration. Remember that breakthroughs come when the time is right. Every step is significant, and the path unfolds in its own perfect timing.

How many sessions will I need?

This will depend on your unique goals and the depth of support you seek. Some of my clients find clarity or momentum in a single session, while others prefer a package of 4, 8, or 12 sessions (or even longer) to create a container for deeper exploration and lasting transformation.

You can purchase single or bundled sessions for use as you need them. Or together, we can tailor a journey that aligns with your needs and aspirations.

What sorts of things might I work on?

You can choose to address a range of things in our sessions to achieve a deeper sense of fulfilment, purpose, and well-being, and your goal may be an inner and/or outer goal. Depending on how large and complex your vision and goals are, you may want to do ad hoc spot coaching sessions as blocks present, or embark on a deeper journey together over 4, 8, 12 weeks or more, where I partner with you to chart a pathway toward your goals, support and hold you accountable, help you navigate and transcend blocks and challenges, and most of all celebrate your successes with you along the way!

How long is each session?

Sessions typically last 60 minutes but may extend slightly longer if there is deeper material emerging. It will not go beyond 90 minutes.

To honor the process, it’s wise to leave extra time afterward, either for the session to flow naturally or to allow space for integration. Sessions often create an opportunity to access deeper layers of yourself or shift into new states of awareness, so it’s best not to schedule anything immediately afterward. This ensures you have the freedom to fully engage and emerge without feeling rushed or constrained.

How do I prepare and make the most of the session(s)?

1. Meditate on what would you like to explore or resolve beforehand

This will guide the purpose of our time together.

It doesn't have to be entirely clear - part of the process can include finding that clarity, and sometimes, the exploration itself is what is valuable. Sometimes what you thought you wanted also changes as we uncover new things along the way.

However, a general sense of what isn’t working for you, or what you would like working better, is a good starting place. This might be anything from a desired outcome for a particular aspect of life, or a feeling, theme or pattern that is affecting your life in some way. 

2. Prepare a conducive space you can be fully present in

Sessions are not like normal meetings. They can involve processes that take you deep, so it is best if you approach them as your “sacred space” and “me time”.

Make sure there are no distractions or interruptions

  • Be in a quiet space where you won’t be distracted or interrupted. Places like cafes or open offices typically won’t allow you to fully focus and be fully with the subtle work that happens in a session. Definitely don’t do the session while driving.

  • For online sessions, make sure you have a good internet connection.

  • Turn your phone off.

  • Make sure children are looked after, or know not to interrupt your session.

Make yourself comfortable, whatever that means for you

  • Comfortable seating and room temperature

  • Use the toilet before hand if necessary

  • Make yourself a cup of tea or beverage of choice

Depending on your personal practice, you may wish to set an intention, presence or ground beforehand… 

  • A short meditation or prayer

  • Light a candle, have incense or aromatherapy

  • Any activity or ritual that helps you leave the “busyness” of “normal life” for a moment and bring you back to “you” eg. a short walk, a few deep breaths, a mantra

3. Have something on hand for taking notes

Noteworthy things typically come up in sessions. They also usually end with commitments or actions you will want to implement for yourself. So have a notebook & pen, phone or computer on hand to capture insights, takeaways, commitments and actions. 

Where are the sessions held?

All sessions are conducted online via video call, making it accessible no matter where you’re located.

I do not do in person sessions at this time.

How much does it cost?

My coaching packages vary in price depending on the length and level of support. You can also purchase single sessions or bundles.

What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?

Sessions

Sessions can be rescheduled with at least 48 hours' notice with no charge. Cancellations made within 48 hours are non-refundable.

Packages
Refunds are not offered on coaching packages, programs or bundles. This policy supports full investment and commitment to the work, fostering the focus and presence needed for meaningful transformation, rather than enabling “one foot in” the work and “one foot out” the door. The intention is to create a commitment to your highest level of success and ensure we both share a full commitment to your growth.

It’s important to make a confident, wholehearted decision before embarking on this path together. Remember, this doesn't mean not feeling any fear -- a mix of fear and excitement is actually the perfect place to be; an indication of playing in the sweet spot of our growth edges when we commit to this kind of work.

(If you need support making this decision, you may also like to do a clarity call to help you decide if you would like to commit a package. This is a paid session where we explore all that is alive and possibly stuck for you, and map out the journey we might embark on together should you decide to proceed. There is no obligation to proceed -- it is always about what is in alignment for you -- and if you decide not to, you will still have all the takeaways to work on on your own, or in other ways.)

What kind of results are guaranteed?

None. Results are a magical combination of all you put in (your clear intention, commitment, and consistent inspired action) our co-created space and strategies, and the grace of life.

I have been a witness to beautiful wisdom and humbling transformation in my clients' sessions and lives. While it has been an honour to hold space, guide and walk with them, all their progress, joy, growth and success are theirs to own.

How do I know if I'm ready to invest in myself?

This is a question only you can answer. But a good signpost is when it excites as much as it scares you. Everyone's level of investment will be different according to their circumstances. Just be sure to invest in yourself from a place of excitement, inspiration, possibility and trust, rather than a place of anxiety, pressure, lack or fear. So whenever and however is right for you, I am here, and I welcome the opportunity and honour to support you if I can.

What if I can't afford it right now?

Before anything, it is more powerful to make your decision from a place of "I choose not to spend on this right now", rather than "I can't afford it".

If this thought arises, take a moment to step back and ask yourself honestly if this is actually true, or if it is a (limiting) belief. It may be true. Or it may...

... very validly, serve to protect you from something (eg. a fear, the discomfort of stepping outside a comfort zone

... be an (mis)association you made with something

... be giving you something (security, attention, support)

... be an unconscious inherited pattern

Explore the belief -- does it serve you? Be honest with yourself on what the path of growth for you is.

Distinguish whether affording this investment would be irresponsible and cause financial hardship (eg. not being able to pay the rent, put food on the table or cover other essentials), or whether it would it difficult but not detrimental.

If investing in coaching would actually cause hardship, then if what I offer really calls you, talk to me about accessing my offerings at a sliding scale, or apply for a scholarship.

If it would be difficult but not detrimental, then I invite you to try on two ideas (although I'm sure you can come up with many more possibilities to have what you really want when you tap into your resourcefulness!).

  1. Consider it a sacred sacrifice for something that is worthwhile and important enough to you, and choose to give up other expenditure (eg. eating out, buying an outfit, travel) to enable the investment in you, your life and your future, and the entire ecology that you touch and influence as a result of this commitment to your growth.

  2. Consider how this might be an invaluable investment you can't afford not to make -- what possibilities, mindsets or abundance is unlocked by it that renders the original limitation invalid? (Does it enable you to transcend scarcity mindset and unleash new resourcefulness and abundance thinking across your entire life? Will it help you step into a next level you that magnetises opportunities, resources and finances so this investment pays for itself many-fold? Is it about you finally putting YOU first and breaking a pattern of prioritising everyone else's needs before yours - what is the price of this?)
